Opposites Attract
There’s a saying, I’m sure you’ve heard of it; opposites attract. Generally speaking, it means that people are attracted to someone who is the opposite of themselves. In my experience, however, it has a much different meaning. In reality this saying means women pursue the opposite of what they want in men. Most women have the same man in their minds whom they want. And it’s always the same kind of man, with the same qualities. What’s strange is that this man IS out there, he does exist. However, instead of trying to find and be with this kind of man, every woman goes out and grabs the exact opposite, douchebag kind of guy. Then the women will hate on this guy for not being the man she says she wants to be with. Let me say this again: instead of finding the guy that matches her description of the perfect man (and there’s a good chance she knows a few that meet this criteria), a woman will grab the first jackass that comes along to meet exactly NONE of those requirements. AND she will hate him for it.
This makes no sense to me. A woman purposely (yes, purposely) chooses this, lets call him lacking, man to be with, and then blames him for lacking what the woman wants. It’s apparently the man’s fault she’s not happy. All he did was be himself, which, while being somewhat of an asshole, nearly guaranteed him the girl. And if it’s working for him, why should he change? If she dumps his ass there’s a thousand other women who can’t wait to get their hands on him.
So it is my belief that these kind of men exist, and are flourishing, because they, while not being what women claim to want, are exactly what they take. In the buffet of the world, women come to the restaurant wanting the steak, but will almost always order the meatloaf. Is it any wonder then that every restaurant starts stocking up on meatloaf? Some even stop offering steak, since no one orders it (except for men, but that’s a rant for another day). So these decent guys start wising up, figuring if they want women then they need to emulate the jerks. This is where all the good men have gone – chased into becoming jerks in order to get women.
Not all men jump ship, however. There are some left who have the qualities women desire. And these women, without fail, will bitch to all these men about the jerk they’re with, usually saying something like, “why can’t he be more like you?” To which these men undoubtedly think, “Well why don’t you just be with me if you like me so much, you stupid idiot?” And she will also bemoan herself and ask, “Why can’t I find a decent guy?”
The term opposites attract refers to the fact that women are attracted to the men that are the opposite of what they desire.
And they will never admit this.
